Kirsten Miles is currently studying Hydrology at the University of Virginia.    Her experience includes developing an understanding of pesticide testing in America's produce industry for Varian Analytical Instruments and undergraduate research in experimental pediatric cancer.   She has participated in the Migrant Matematica program in Albemarle County, tutoring children in mathematical concepts and vocabulary, and has worked with local ESOL programs. She has traveled to Venezuela and Brazil, participating in a WWF minimal sustainable forest study.  Kirsten has a keen interest in children all over the world and has visited San Mateo Ixtatán, where she hopes to return as a Science teacher.  She lives in Albemarle County with her husband Nick and their two children Brendan and Michelle.
